2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD

2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2022 GMC Sierra 2500

Even if you already know that you want your next truck to be a GMC Sierra, you can’t take one home to The Villages quite yet! This high-end pickup truck is available in three models—the 1500, 2500HD, and 3500HD—and each of these is configurable with a range of engine options. All of these choices give you the freedom to build a powerhouse truck that precisely meets your needs.

Not sure where to start or what’s right for you? We suggest that you compare GMC trucks in the light-duty category versus the first of two heavy-duty models in the Sierra lineup. Our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2500HD matchup has all the info you need to make an informed choice!

2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2500HD: Price

You’ll pay more for the 2500HD at the base trim, but the top Sierra 1500 trim costs more than the top 2500HD trim. That’s due to another notable difference between the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2500HD: you can load up the 1500 cabin with luxe interior amenities as you climb to higher trim levels, while the 2500HD cabin is designed more for comfort on the job, and less for joyrides through downtown Dunnellon. Unless you require the extra towing power of the 2500HD, you’ll get more bang for your buck by choosing the Sierra 1500.
